Global Packaging Alliance Holds Annual Meeting in Germany

Global Packaging Alliance® (GPA)
Holds Annual Meeting in Germany

Increasingly shorter product cycles and reaction times are creating more challenges for globally harmonized packaging management. Members of the Global Packaging Alliance® (GPA) addressed this and other issues during their annual meeting held in Hanover, Germany and hosted by rlc | packaging. Representatives from the global consortium of independent, medium-sized packaging manufacturers convened from all over the world to discuss viable solutions to current packaging requirements.

“Swiftness is becoming increasingly important in our industry. Worldwide rollouts of new products need to be faster, secure, and standardized. Globally harmonized packaging management is the key,” explained Hans-Christian Bestehorn, GPA spokesman and CEO of the rlc | packaging group. “The goal is to supply packaging that reliably meets high-quality standards, offers unique added value, and is produced in accordance with the strictest safety regulations.” more

Global Packaging Alliance Holds Annual Meeting in India

The Global Packaging Alliance (GPA), a worldwide consortium of medium-sized, independent packaging manufacturers, plans to strengthen its cooperation in the field of packaging design and development for global brands. Diamond Packaging (USA) and Kumar Printers (India) are now joining forces with Masterpack (South Africa) and Colorpak (Australia) in adopting the brandpack concept developed by the rlc | packaging group. Created in 2007, brandpack is the rlc center of excellence for complete packaging design.

At the annual GPA meeting recently held in New Delhi, India, management representatives from the nine member companies discussed the different market conditions in the worldwide network based on sustainability and quality of life issues. In the emerging countries, for example, the current trend toward plastic film packaging poses a serious problem for environmental protection. This is primarily due to the underdeveloped recycling systems in these regions. At the same time, there is a demand in these markets for sustainable packaging solutions and high-quality design for global brands. more
